Good Faith Estimate
Last updated: September 26, 2026
Under the federal No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your care will cost.
Who this applies to
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services, including psychotherapy. This practice does not bill insurance, so every client is entitled to one. You may ask for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule anything, and you may ask any health care provider for one.
What your estimate includes
Your estimate lists the services expected for your care and the fee for each one. Current session fees are also shown in the pricing section on our home page. Fees may change over time, and your estimate will show the fees in effect on the day it is issued.
When you will receive your estimate
If you schedule a service at least 3 business days in advance, you will receive your Good Faith Estimate within 1 business day of scheduling.
If you schedule a service at least 10 business days in advance, you will receive it within 3 business days of scheduling.
If you ask for an estimate without scheduling, you will receive it within 3 business days of your request.
If your bill is higher than your estimate
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Keep a copy or a picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
